Senator Reid’s Comments Earn Him A Republican Party Invite

WASHINGTON, DC (FiniteTimes.com) – Top Republican lawmakers on Sunday called for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to “come over to their side” after racially-charged remarks he made in 2008 came to light.

“The Majority Leader’s comments suggest that he would be more at ease legislating from the right, not the left,” an unnamed Republican analyst said in a statement to The Finite Times. “If he wishes to continue to pile on Barry Hussein and his liberal, socialist coup, we will welcome him with open arms.

“If not, damn him for his racial slights against the fine Negroid American peoples.”

This latest firestorm resulted from a 2008 private conversation in which Reid claimed that Obama would succeed in his quest to become president because he was fair-skinned and had no Negro dialect. Reid has since apologized for his poor word choice but insisted that his comments were taken out of context.

“I merely meant he could pass for a friggin’ beaner, that’s all,” Reid allegedly clarified in a private comment to staffers.

I say let Harry Reid become a Republican. I’ve been an independent/lean Democrat all my life, and I’ve never seen a weaker Majority Leader. I wonder how many Democrats are secretly holding out hope that he gets drummed out of the Senate, or at least the leadership of the Senate.

Of course, the polling numbers coming out of Nevada suggest it would just be prematurely giving in to the inevitable. The big question is, who would take his place?
