Republicans Plan Unconventional State of Union Address Response

(FiniteTimes.com) – An emboldened Republican super minority announced today that they would forgo the traditional response after the President’s State of the Union Address and instead deliver a spirited response during the address itself.

“As Joe Wilson (R-SC) showed us, sometimes the best response is forceful, immediate and shockingly rude,” said Pete Sessions (R-TX), who organized what the GOP is calling their Rapid Real Response. “When the President starts misleading the American people or slipping into his lofty, hollow rhetorical style, we plan on calling him on it forcefully immediately, and rudely.”

While scheduled spontaneous outbursts have been a closely-guarded secret, some have leaked out. John McCain (R-AZ) is supposed to holler out “Bullpuckie!” at some point during the foreign policy section of President Obama’s speech. Sue Myrick (R-NC) is supposed to utter a shrill “Oh no he din’t!” at some point in the evening, while Michele Bachman (R-MN) will offer up a spirited “Teabag me!” on several random occasions.

The main Republican spotlight for the night, however, will almost surely be on Jim Bunning (R-KY), who is expected to entertain all with two-three stanzas of Ringo Starr’s “No No Song” at some point, although some sources are saying that Bunning may instead buck the party’s wishes and opt for “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” instead.
