I've been an independent/lean Democrat all my life, and I've never seen a weaker Majority Leader. I wonder how many Democrats are secretly holding out hope that he gets drummed out of the Senate, or at least the leadership of the Senate. Of course, the polling numbers coming out of Nevada suggest it would just be prematurely giving in to the inevitable. The big question is, who would take his place?
