Coakley/Kennedy Pre-Election Duet “Unforgettable”
(FiniteTimes.com) - The Massachusetts’ special election to fill Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat went theatrical over the weekend as a virtual Kennedy joined embattled Democrat Martha Coakley on-stage for a song and dance routine.
“It was kind of odd, very Nat King/Natalie Cole doing ‘Unforgettable’ together,” said one spectator at the Gloucester rally where the two performed. “I don’t think they wanted to do the dancing bit, but the only relevant footage they could find of Kennedy singing, he seemed to be pretty, uh, happy at the time. And if you’re singing and happy, you’re going to be dancing your butt off as well.
“Coakley does a pretty mean soft shoe though, I’ll give her that,” the spectator said. “For all his fancy talk, I have yet to see [Republican candidate] Scott Brown’s dancing skills, you know?”
In addition to a little soft shoe and tap dancing, Kennedy and Coakley belted out a rousing, albeit off-key, version of Jim Croce’s “Bad, Bad Leroy Scott Brown.” The campaign did not say whether it had any more duets planned before Tuesday’s election.

This is funny. It will end up being a lot closer than it should be, but there’s no way Massachusetts is going to send a Republican like Brown to the Senate. I can’t believe how much the media is pumping this up. Slow political news day.
