“Baghdad Ballerinas” To Blame For SE Storms

(FiniteTimes.com) – When Mike Huckabee’s squadron of Humvees topped a small desert rise last week while on routine patrol, they couldn’t believe what lay before them in the valley below: a handful of Iraqi insurgents, all on tippy-toes and spinning rapidly in the dying desert sun.

“After we killed ‘em all and high-fived, we could see that they even had them little tutu dresses on too,” said Huckabee. “We just figured they was practicing for the Baghdad Ballet, so we high-fived again. Me and the boys call that a two-fer.”

Pentagon officials and researchers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are calling it something more ominous. At a hastily-called Sunday press conference that this The Finite Times correspondent grudgingly attended, they linked this pirouetting incident with the series of tornadoes that have recently rocked the Southeastern United States.

“It’s called the ‘butterfly effect’,” said NOAA researcher Dr. Brent Langly. “The theory is that one small action in one part of the world can have a larger effect on another part. The Iraqi insurgents have apparently perfected this concept, God help us all.”

Dr. Langly confirmed that the NOAA was studying Iraqi footage from last summer to see if there was any correlation with that season’s string of killer hurricanes.

Meanwhile in Washington, administration officials are applauding this discovery and feel vindicated that WMDs – Whirlies of Mass Destruction – have been found. President Bush is expected today to sign a bill authorizing that any turn by an Iraqi beyond 90 degrees be considered a hostile act.
