Armstrong On A Fast Break To Cleveland?

(FiniteTimes.com) – Conventional wisdom holds that if you fall off a bike, you get right back up on it, and Lance Armstrong has embraced this advice wholly with his announcement today that he’ll be playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers this fall.

“I’ve had sex on a bike, surgery, gone potty… how hard can dribbling a basketball be?” Armstrong tweeted early Monday.

Within minutes of his failed attempt at an eighth Tour de Force win on Sunday, Armstrong was fielding a call from Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, who sources say was eager to get a sporting “name” onto the roster after letting LeBron James escape last week to the Miami Heat.

“The only thing that Lance really wanted was the Cav jerseys to be switched to yellow ones, which Gilbert agreed to,” a source says. “Lance won’t be replacing LeBron, per se, but hopefully will prove to be very effective as a power peddle forward for the team.”

Gilbert still has a significant hurdle to clear in convincing (NBA Commissioner) David Stern to allow bikes on the court, but with the sport’s lagging popularity, the Cavaliers are betting heavily on Armstrong, going so far as to sign a three-year deal with Nike to produce new team apparel sporting Armstrong’s image and the logo “Ten Speed Hustle!”

Details of Armstrong’s deal with the Cavs have not yet been made public.
