ACLU Sues Over Karr Treatment

(FiniteTimes.com) – The American Civil Liberties Union announced today that it plans to file suit in Los Angeles District Court to halt what it calls “misleading prisoner care.”

The lawsuit stems from the recent flight of suspected JonBenet Ramsey murderer John Mark Karr from Thailand back to the states to stand trial for the crime. During the flight, Karr was wined and dined in business class while a gaggle of press looked on.

“It’s incredible,” said ACLU spokesperson Claire Montagne. “Mr Karr was treated far too well, and it raised his expectations far too high.

“How is it going to affect him, to go from fried prawns to ass-poundings, from champagne to toilet bowl bourbon? It’s cruel and unusual treatment to go from one extreme to the other.”

Ms. Montagne offered some suggestions regarding how prisoners should be transported in the future so that they would not suffer crushing disappointment upon arrival at prison.

“We’re not saying that prisoners should be subjected to the Bush Travel Doctrine. You know: 3×3 holding cells, straight jackets, ball gags,” said Ms. Montagne. “Surely no one would object to chaining suspects in the belly of the plane with a stack of baloney sandwiches and a bucket to piss in, though.”

Authorities in California and Colorado had no comment on the pending lawsuit, but an anonymous source did note that the veal scallopini, baby glazed carrots, baked Alaska and 1957 Merlot that were supposed to be served on Tuesday’s Los Angeles to Boulder extradition flight had been replaced with ham and cheese Hot Pockets and grape Kool-Aid.

Justice Timberlake still performed on the flight as scheduled.
