Investigators Re-Open Abu Ghraib Investigation
Baghdad, Iraq (FiniteTimes.com) – The US Army is re-opening its investigation into alleged abuses at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison after a series of holiday e-cards have come to light suggesting that mistreatment of prisoners at the institution may be on-going.
“We take all such things very seriously and will be looking very closely to see if any prisoner mistreatment has occurred,” said Major Daniel Burns, head of the investigation codenamed Operation Ho Ho Uh Oh. “We’re hoping its just a jackass with an Army-issue copy of Photoshop having a little Christmas fun, but we have begun a lockdown of the facility to search for any illicit decorative items.”
Rocked by allegations of torture, Abu Ghraib prison has been in the process of shutting down since March of 2006. Of the prisoners that remain, most are full, well-shaped and bathed frequently in Pine-Sol ®.
